| Environ 350 personnes ont fait le premier voyage touristique à bord du train entre Gaspé et Chandler mardi 17 février 2009.
Le tout premier train à vocation touristique a voyagé entre Gaspé et Chandler mardi avec à son bord environ 350 personnes. Escale Gaspésie, qui gère le projet des croisières internationales en sol gaspésien, a invité des élèves de l’école Saint-Rosaire de Gaspé afin d’organiser cette journée sur les rails de la pointe de la péninsule. Ce projet pilote avait comme principal objectif de mettre à l’essai un train touristique entre Gaspé et Chandler avec un arrêt à l’Anse-à-Beaufils. L’entreprise Via Rail Canada et la Société du chemin de fer de la Gaspésie (SCFG) se sont jointes à Escale Gaspésie pour la réalisation de ce projet-pilote.
